Geek Dinner · 2079 days ago

Well well well… my first GEEK Dinner, and surely not my last.

It was held at the Chaat cafe as we basically took over the entire resturant in our numbers. Poor owners were suprised – I don’t think they were expecting us. Perhaps will call in advance next time. The food however was good, I will be back on my own. The conversation was good aswell.

Some shop talk, work/bittorrent/computer stuff and then we broke up into smaller groups as the topics spread out even more. I found myself talking to a few people about the recent Tsunami and it’s devestating effects – it’s additional effects to come and how it might effect us. I also had a nice chat with someone about recycling computers – which we agreed is going to become a public problem sooner rather than later and then about the all intrustive cellphone before we had to leave.

All it all, there were alot more people than me or jeff thought would show up and it was rather nice to see such a strong showing. Perhaps we will join them for the next as it seems to be a recurring event.

and maybe we’ll stay up late enough to go to a GEEK breakfast, though I highly doubt that. Then again with my current sleeping pattern I might have eat my words.
